SECURE PAYMENT - Stripe protection
The website www.theonlinemugstore.com and Tahiti Shopping uses Stripe security to protect not only you, our customer but ourselves as well.
Stripe uses encryption in all it's transactions. These include the use of TLS connection, key identification and compliance with data security standards, such as PCI-DSS.
How is your data protected?
When you are paying on the lauranna-pacific.com via Stripe, you are directed to an entirely secured Stripe payment page thanks to an HTTPS protocole. The payment process is then directly established on the Stripe secured payment server.
Sensitive data, such as your credit card number and its date of expiry, are fully encrypted and protected through an SSL protocol so that the information cannot be intercepted by a third party throughout the course of the transaction.
Card numbers are encrypted instantly and are not accessible by Stripe retailers. In addition, Stripe does not retain the card numbers and relies on a secure infrastructure that respects the international PCI-DSS standard.
What are SSL and TLS?
The SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and TLS (Transport Layer Security) acronyms, are security protocols meant to ensure the confidentiality of exchanged information on the internet between apps and users. These technologies allow to transfer your credit card information in an entirely safe way.
The TLS is new and more secure version than the SSL. It is made of 2 layers: The TLS protocole Record, and the TLS Handshake.
The first layer provides a secure connection thanks to methods such as DAE (Data Encryption Standard). It can also be used without encryption. The second layer allow the server and computers to identify one from one another, and then choose together an encryption algorithm and secret keys before beginning to send data or messages.
What is SSL PCI-DSS?
In order to ensure credit card payments when purchasing on e-commerce websites, it is crucial the payment solution implement and maintain very strict safety norms. Indeed the credit card operation’s securing is a very sensitive matter, all vulnerability being used by cyber criminals.
The PCI-DSS norm compliance allows to fight against those vulnerabilities and allows to protect credit card owners’ data.
